Explain why you think its important to evaluate your work ?

Evaluation is important as it allows one to identify the strengths of their work. This means everything that they feel they have done well. Evaluation also allows one to identify weaknesses of a project which includes things that they don’t like. It also allows people to identify things that they may do differently if they had to the project again.

Explain why you picked youtube to showcase your video?

My group members and I decided to upload our music video on youtube as youtube is the biggest video source that allows people all around the world to view these videos. Youtube is very beneficial as it allows people to show off their expertise and see wether other people may like it or not; this can potentially make videos viral. The biggest example is 'Justin Bieber' who posted videos of himself singing on youtube so his family can view them and he got recognized through youtube and now he is the biggest pop star. My group members and I created a rough cut that we uploaded on youtube. This allowed us to receive feedback on the rough cut and see what people think of it. These will alow people to comment and suggest which we can take in consideration and make those necessary changes as the Audience knows best.

Include 3 to 4 comments that you received as feedback on your music video

The comments that we received were a mixture of both negative and positive but most of them were giving suggestions of what we can do to make or music video better. One of the comments was by Eron who is 18  'There needs to be a contradiction between slow editing in the ballad sections and fast editing at the chorus sections of the song. Eron’ Eron suggest that there should be a contrast in the editing when the beat is low and fast when the beat is fast. We agreed with Eron and increased the editing when the beat is high as it creates more effect when the editing goes well with the beat.

Another comment was by P.Dhillion who is 25 ‘I like the video so far, I think that it is on the right track.
However I believe that there are some changes that you could make.
1) When the song reaches the chorus the editing needs to speed up.
2) Her lip-sining when she is lying down is not great!
This comment by P dhillion was very detailed and convincing. He liked the video overall however he made some good suggestions that could make our video much better. He suggested the same thing as Eron that the editing needs to be faster when the beats high. The artist’s lip-singing wasn’t god and she needed more practice. We organized rehearsals and made sure that the artist knew the song by heart and she is more comfortable lip-singing in front of the camera. Once rehearsals were finished we decided on a day as a group to shoot again. We got so much better shots as the artist knew the song and was more confident singing
The next comment was by Chalize who is 16 and she said 'change some of your shots around at the moment I cannot quiet understand your narrative'. We organized a meeting where we reviewed all the clips that we had aswell as played the song; as a group we made notes what clip would fit in in with what part of the song.

How did the comments make you feel as a media producer ?

The comments that we received were very helpful. But receiving the comments made us understand what exactly the target audience wanted. These comments allowed us to make our music video better which will be appreciated by the target audience.
The comments that we received were very helpful however we felt we hadn’t done that well in the first place. But receiving the comments made us understand what exactly the target audience wanted. These comments allowed us to make our music video better which will be appreciated by the target audience.

How would your feedback help if you were working in the music industry?

If I was working in the music industry feedback would have helped alot as at the end of the day the products we produce is for the audience to view. If the audience is happy and satisfied then so is the producer. The feedback would have allowed me easily understand what the target audience wants and the feedback would have allowed me to deliver the best.
