I am a huge fan of pop music and have grown up listening to singer's like katy perry , Jenifer Lopez , and lady gaga. These artists are some of the hottest pop artists and thus would have been hard to re-brand as these artists are very popular. I decided to do leona lewis as i liked her from her x factor days. She has interesting songs as her songs are mostly about bad relationships. After discussing with my group they felt the same about leona leiws as they felt it would be easier to rebrand leona lewis as we can easily change the type of songs she does. The song we choose is a song that has a dance effect to it aswell and leona lewis doesn't have a music video for this song.

Leona loiuse lewis better known as leona lewis is a british singer and songwriter. She is known for winning third series of  UK X factor. She won x factor in 2006. Her debut album was released 'Spirit' in 2007. This album had the most successful single 'bleeding love'. This was her debut single. This song reached number 1 in more than three countires. She was proclaimed 'Top new artist' by Billboard magazine. Her third album came out in 2012 and this was called 'Glassheart'. This is the single that we have coose to do our music video on.
Leona lewis has had nine top-ten hits in the UK. She has been nominated for seven BRIT awards and three grammy awards. She has often been compared to Whitney Houstan who is infact her idol. She also has been No 1 x factor artist.
Leona Lewis is sihned to Syco labels. This record label is founded by Saimon Cowell in 2002  and is a subsidery of syco entertainment. Syco labels has the exclusive right to sign x factor winners.

This song 'bleeding love' by leona lewis uses variety of camera shots. This vary from close-ups , long shots to high angles. This video uses 'midshot' to show the women of the bed feeling distressed. She is angry and frustrated. This is shown by her makeup as her mascara has smudged because she has been crying. In this shot we see her fidgeting on the bed aswell as her going through the photoos of her and her love and taking her anger on these photos.

Dyer believes a star is ordinary but extraordinary at the same time. This music video has made use of dyers theory as we see leona lewis in a sparkly long dress. Her makeup is also silver that goes with her dress. However, she is in a bedroom which shows that she isnt in an extraordinary place but she is standing out. This  also shows that she is upset as she is singing about 'bleeding in love' but she is dressed in this dress which shows that she doesn't care.

This music video follows the Goodwin's theory. One of the things in the Goodwin's theroy include the fact that msuic videos are performance , Concept or narrative based. This music video is 70% performance and 30% narrative. The audience sees leona lewis singing to the camera in different locations. Another aspect of  the Goodwin's theroy is that there is a relationship between lyrics and its visuals. There seems to be no relationship between the lyrics and visuals as leona lewis is singing about bleeding love and she is seen singing to the camera the visuals are not describing the lyrics
The target audience for this music video seems to be 14 and above. This is  because leoan lewis is singing about bleeding in love which means having bad relationships. This is something that girls 14 and older can relate to.

This song by Leona lewis is called 'run' is about leona lewis singing to her love. She is saying that she will do anything for her love even if she doesn't get anything back. This music video has different types of camera shots. There is use of many long shots. The long shot shown in the msuic video shows Leona lewis singing to the camera. The background seems to be a forest,  the background is dark and she is wearing dark clothing. This shows how she feels and the long shot allows the viewers to exactly see whats going on in the background aswell as how the singer looks like.

Dyers theory is that a star is ordinary yet extraordinary. ;Leona lewis seems to be very ordinary in this music video. This is beacause she is wearing dark clothing and the lighting is very dark.

The msuic video also follows Goodwin's Theory , music videos are performance , narrative and concept based. This music video is 100% performance as it only has leona lewis singing to the camera  walking around what seems to be a forest. There is also a relationship between the lyrics and visuals. Its because the song is called 'run' which is the chorus ; and we see leona lewis walking through this forest and singing about running. The target audience for this song is also 14 and above as this song is about loving someone and not receiving the same love back.

This research has helped me planning my music video as i am rebranding leona lewis and i aiming to change leona lewis usual music videos. The research has allowed me to understand the typical aspects of leona lewis music video and the things i need to change about it.
